PLEASE READ all the details below BEFORE filling out an audition request.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS TO AUDITION:
- You need to have a passion for dance!
And really be open to explore new ideas in creating new dance works and performances.
- You should be between the ages of 14 - 22 years
- You should have at least 2 years of formal dance training and/or experience.
- You need to be able to make a time committment to us - We practice every Sunday (except holidays) from 1:30-5:00PM throughout the year.
- Performances are generally on weekends during Spring & Fall but a much lighter schedule. Once school is out in mid-June, we generally have a heavier performance schedule through the Summer up until mid-August.
- If under 18, you need to have parental permission.
AUDITION FORMAT
1. You will need to present to the dance company one piece under 3 minutes of what you consider to be your strongest dance style. Please bring your own music on CD or iPod.
2. You will be asked to dance with us for a bit, so please leave time.
3. An interview will be conducted and the program explained in detail. Parents are welcome and encouraged to sit in on this.
4. You will have an opportunity to mingle informally with the current cast to learn more about us and be sure this is a fit for you as well as for us.IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY AFFILIATED WITH A STUDIO
If you are currently affiliated with a studio, please be sure your participation in our progam does not pose a conflict with your studio. Please note, we are not a dance school nor do we participate in dance competitions. However, to avoid any potential conflicts, please be sure that your studio does not object to your trying out for another company.
What you need to know up front…….
- This company is comprised of young adults ages 14 - 22 years of age.
- There is no cost to you as a member of this company. No fees are charged ever. You do
not pay for any costumes. All expenses are covered under grants we receive.- You should have at least 2 or more years of current dance training/experience in any of these styles - ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, modern, funk, cultural dance or hip hop.
- All members of the company are expected to contribute to choreography, show production
and development of this group as a whole.- We are not affiliated with any dance school nor are we a dance school.
- We do not pay for rehearsal time.
- Rehearsals are on Sundays from 1:30PM - 5:00 PM every week. Please be sure you can make this committment of time before you audition!
- Rehearsals are held at The Studios On Main in East Greenville, PA (5 minutes from the Quakertown exit of the NorthEast Extension.

- Most events booked are paid on a sliding scale, split equally between dancers based on client budgets. Average rate for a performance is between $40-$150.
- Music & Motion will look to take on several non-paying events during the year to achieve exposure
for future bookings as well as provide community service to other non-profit organizations.- If you are in it just for the money or fame look elsewhere. If you are looking for an opportunity to create, have fun dancing and be a part of a unique performance experience then you will more likely be a match for our group.
