What inspires you? In ancient Greece there were nine muses ruled over the arts and sciences and offered
inspiration in those subjects. For dancers it is a sacred space, where you can find yourself again and again.
A place where one can retreat, nourish the muse and ultimately find oneself. It is a playground that has the power
to transport us and help us to resuscitate our imagination. Or in the words of Carl Jung "what you have to do,
you do with play". Come share our muses and take a flight of your own imagination.

Featured Dancers: Emily Alexander, Breanna Dancy, Jessica DiFranceso, Jennifer Durham, Brooke Fiorito,
Stacey Folks, Melissa Hunt, Andrea Piovane, Tasha Saleh, Courtney Schiff, Morgan Woroniecki.

Music & Motion Dance presented CONTINENTS: A Global Voyage at the 2008 Philadelphia Live Arts Festival & Philly Fringe. Performances were held on September 6, 2008 at the Hall of Flags on the University of Pennsylvania campus.

Continents is a multi-textured celebration of rhythm, that is both subtle and complex, yet primal as a heartbeat. Music & Motion literally takes its audiences on a journey of exotic lands around the world, with an exploration of movement from the sun-drenched African mesa; blends of eastern and western traditions in Turkey; the tabala beats of India; modern twists on the original Japanese Jomon culture; Euro-Mediterranean, ethno-techno blends; and rhythmic fusions of Tokelau, Tuvalu and Samoan cultures. This world fusion experiment acts as a catalyst for the exploration of movement and ideas that reflect our ever-changing global presence, from the historical to contemporary and the traditional to the eclectic. Continents communicates to its audiences on multiple dimensions, leading us on self-consciously inward journey in the seeking of a universal ideal

"Your eye is caught by a single color, RED. It is inescapable and compelling as senses are triggered and emotions aroused. When this color becomes the defining point of a relationship, one is caught up in whirlwind of seduction, passion, anger, romance and joy. Ultimately this color journey leads us to an empowering view of who we are and what is truly possible. Music and Motion Dance's new work RED, offers us an intimate look at relationships through the medium of movement, luscious visual imagery, differing human temperaments and undeniable beauty of self-discovery."

Music & Motion Dance Productions presented the Philadelphia premiere of TO A DIFFERENT BEAT at the 2006 Philadelphia Live Arts Festival & Philly Fringe. Performances were held on September 16, 2006 at the Philadelphia Cathedral, 3723 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia.

"Known for visually arresting creations, this contemporary youth company returned to Fringe for a third year, exploring a cultural fusion of expressive rhythm and dance set to modern global music. Blending individual creativity, these dancers enticed with their own rhythms of the heart, intense imagery, boldness and pure energy."

"To A Different Beat" played to record crowds and received numerous accolades. Fringe for 2006 marked the end of the season for this dance worked which had also toured in Canada under an international exchange grant.

"I am not sure why, but I found myself emotionally swept up in your performance at the Philly Fringe. One moment my eyes welled up with tears, the next I found myself laughing and smiling with joy, and finally just wanting to get up and dance with all of you. Your performance was everything dance should be! It touched my heart and my soul and left me with images that still are in my head after the performance has ended. This was one of the best dance productions I have attended this year!"

MUSIC & MOTION DANCE AT THE FRINGE 2005!
Music & Motion Dance Productions presented the Philadelphia premiere of ELEMENTS at the 2005 Philadelphia Live Arts Festival & Philly Fringe. Performances were held at The National Constitution Center 525 Arch Street, Independence Mall, Philadelphia on Friday September 2, 2005 at 8PM and Saturday September 3, 2005 at 8PM.

"Elements", a new dance work and Philadelphia Premiere by Music & Motion, explored the four elements of antiquity - earth, water, air and fire. Fourteen female dancers, ages 14 to 18, collaborated in an artistic vision joining together the roots of our planet, of our spirits and each other. Humorous and abstract pieces offer a kaleidoscope of movement inspired by these ancient elements.

The development of "Elements" marked a milestone for this company, having reached its fifth year of productions. It was also be the second appearance by what has been the youngest performance group at the Philly Fringe. Over sixteen new dance pieces were created for presentation at Fringe 2005. The rather striking and varied choreography was formed by the entire dance company and represents a true feast for the senses. Each element {water, air, fire and earth} is portrayed with a mixture of dance styles ranging from classical ballet to more eclectic mixtures of modern, lyrical, hip-hop and acro.
